1. Scope and disclaimer
This Beta Tester Privacy Policy applies to individuals participating in the beta program called Technology Preview, under the terms of CUJO’s standard Privacy Policy.
It explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, where it is stored, and your rights.
The beta software is a test build, which should not be used in production environments or with critical data or devices. It may be unstable, it may malfunction (causing wrong detections, blocking websites) or it may stop functioning entirely. Use it only if you agree to this policy.
2. Data we collect
We collect two kinds of data:
2.1 Automatic telemetry and crash reports (sent unattended)
- Crash reports and diagnostic traces using Sentry and Crashlytics.
- Basic device information (OS version, device model, app build, MAC).
- Usage metrics (feature usage events, timing, errors).
- Network summary metrics (connection type, anonymized counters).
These items are sent automatically to our backend for analysis as part of telemetry.
2.2 Logs and other developer support data (manual)
- Local logs that may include IP addresses, visited hostnames, MAC addresses, URLs, and other personal identifiers.
- These logs are not sent automatically. A tester must explicitly export and send them to us.
- When asked for deeper troubleshooting, you may be asked to attach such exported logs.
- We can guarantee that
- only the strictly required personnel will have access to these logs
- they will be erased once the purpose for which they were collected is fulfilled
3. Purpose of processing
We process data to:
- Diagnose crashes and bugs.
- Improve product stability and performance.
- Reproduce and fix issues reported by testers.
- Measure usage of beta features.
We do not use beta data for any other purposes.
4. Legal basis
- For testers in the EU, processing is based on your explicit consent to receive beta software and telemetry.
- For other jurisdictions, processing is performed on a combination of consent and our legitimate interest in developing and debugging the product.
- You may withdraw consent at any time by uninstalling the product. It is not possible to withdraw consent and keep using the product.
- Withdrawal will not affect processing completed before withdrawal.
5. Storage
- Automatic telemetry is stored in AWS. Data resides in the EU -West region(s) unless you selected other region.
- Crashlytics is a Google feature used in the product running on Android and has this Privacy Policy: Privacy and Security in Firebase
- Sentry is a product used in the product running on iOS and has this Privacy Policy: Privacy Policy 3.3.2 (October 29, 2025) | Sentry
6. Retention
- Crash reports and telemetry: retained for up to 3 months by default or until the related issue is resolved..
- Exported logs you send: retained for up to 3 months or until the related issue is resolved.
7. Security
We apply industry standard technical and organizational measures.
Examples: access controls, encryption in transit and at rest, logging of access, and role-based access to production data.
Access to raw logs and telemetry is limited to authorized staff and contractors who need the data to perform debugging.
8. Third parties and sub-processors
We may share telemetry and crash reports with:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g. AWS).
- Error tracking and analytics vendors that act as processors.
We only share what is necessary to diagnose and fix issues. Contracts require processors to protect your data.
9. Tester actions and cautions
- Do not include credentials, passwords, or other secrets when sending us logs or information.
- If you must share a file that contains sensitive content, notify us first and follow secure upload procedures.
- Manual log export is under your control – you choose when to send. The exporter UI will state collect the log files, archive them and give you the possibility to share them with us.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request deletion.
- Withdraw consent to data processing.
- Request a copy of exported logs you provided.
To exercise these rights contact: [email protected].
11. Data minimization and anonymization
We minimize collected fields where feasible.
We strip or hash identifiers when they are not needed to debug an issue.
When possible, we aggregate data to reduce identifiability.
12. Children
The beta program is not directed at children under 16 (or higher local age). Do not enroll children, even if you want to test the Parental Control features of our products.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes.
We will post the new policy at this location and indicate the date of last update.
14. Contact
